Rallychic,

Are you competitive?

What's rallying like? I've been in combat, and I've been out of airplanes and helicopters from 500ft all the way up to 10,500ft....I'd have to imagine that the rush of off-road rallying a close 3rd to those. The closest I ever came was in my 1978 Cutlass Supreme in the back roads of Montgomery County Indiana. Man those were the days.

The pic is a 1977, but you get the idea.

The rush is quite amazing. I am the co-driver..but it is still a thrill. I jumped out of a plane at 10,000ft once..and that was amazing...turned around and raced two days later.

To have those two big ones that close..now that is priceless!

I don't know if you live on the big island or not..but there is a great road out there. My friend who grew up there calls it the rollercoaster..it would be a great Tarmac stage for Rally!!!

Awesome! Driving my car at all is great fun. Autocross and the lone 'day at the track' that I did were tremendous. Throwing your car around at 80+mph on tarmac, gravel, and snow must be some scary ****e. I'd give my right arm (and probably more) to do that once, left or right seat.

I right seated last weekend with Jason (ShinRS), an absolutely great driver. That got my heart pumping. I can't imagine putting my life in someone else's hands doing that breakneck pace.

I'm on Oahu. I've never looked into ferrying my car across, but I am planning on taking leave to another island sometime in Feb or Mar.

I lived in Portland for 3 years. It was nice up there, but then I got homesick and came back to Hawaii. My Mom and step dad are still there.

I've driven through Oregon several times. I like the fact you don't pump your own gas and no sales tax.
