this could fool an unwary buyer into believing that this is a turboxs brand intercooler. anybody see any other misleading ebay ads lately?

i hate it when the item is cheap but the shipping is da killer...just bought a few items..just waiting for them to come in...hehehe

 

haha, yea ebay is full of misleading ads, i remember buying something that was noted as name brand but i got a generic.

 

well i've bought alot of stuff from e-bay and was happy everytime...just bought a new bov and a few other goodies..now i just gotta wait for it to arrive..hehe

 

Who cares if it is a knock off it's not like making a intercooler is a exact science that only Turbo-XS knows how to do...From the few pictures it looks really good.. How can a company make a name if they never sell anything...Don't get drawn in to only buying the name brand **** out there... It's like Cusco and Greddy I swear I think their strut tower bars are made by the same company but Cusco charges SO much more..

 

well the intercooler as stated is not made by turboxs. if it is a hyperflow TMI then it is made by another company. Turboxs doesn't even put their logo on the intercooler if you buy one from them. All it says is "Hyperflow" on the top of it right where it connects to your throttle body.

They use turboxs' name since they are well known in the subaru community for performance oriented products.

They get away with it because some people don't read carefully.

It is not advertised as a TurboXS intercooler, it is a XS-Power intercooler. Throwing the word "Turbo" in front of the company name (XS-Power) creates the confusion.

 

I'm gonna call him today if I have time.

 

Ebay charges you for your list price and takes a percentage from your final price, but never from shipping. So if you jack up shipping it's pure profit. That is why shipping is killer most of the time.

My experiences from Ebay and many other online vendors were mostly very pleasant, but some have gone south. Just make sure you ask alot of questions, check the vendor's feedback, and pay with paypal or credit card.

 

ok now back to the topic on hand...would anybody risk spending 225 on this intercooler? it really does look good but it doesnt say that the pictured item is the one ill be getting. i just find it hard to trust a no name company even tho all companies started in that manner.

 

furthermore will i have to fab some new mounts because this i/c is bigger than the sti tmic?

 

i doubt it but some tmic's have fitment issues. also, it does look great but i heard about that seller b4 ssautochrome and was told badly about them...

 

I've actually e-mailed a few people that have dealt with them with no problems but you can't please everybody.

 

Watch out for your low pressure A/C line when installing a bigger top mount. I melted a hole in mine because I wasn't paying attention.
