Honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii...what to do

We are going to Kauai on our honeymoon July 9th-17th, staying at the Lawai Beach Resort and are going to have a rental car for the week. Anyone have any good ideas of what we can do?? We are young 22 yr olds that love action-packed stuff. So we'd be up for pretty much anything. Not sure how much money we're gonna have to blow on it but any recommendations are appreciated. I have heard that we need to go to the Kilauea Volcano, but is that on this island?? Lastly, how long is the drive around the whole island???
Thanks in advance,
Cody

I believe it takes about 45 minutes - 1 hour to drive around the island... it's not really around the island though. I don't think there's a complete "circle" of roads around the island.

Supposedly hiking is big on Kauai, when I was there, me and my wife went scuba diving - you guys could always get certified if you aren't already... Lookup Seasport divers, Fathom Five divers, or bubbles below. We went with Seasport cause they were near us and they picked us up from our hotel. I hear there's this zipline thing that you can do also that's supposed to be pretty cool too, but I didn't get to do that.

Congratulations and enjoy the honeymoon!

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon! If you have the cash and the time I highly suggest taking the Holo Holo charter cruise out to Ni'ihau, it was amazing! You leave from Kauai and cruise up the Na Pali coast line to see all the old sea caves and lava tubes, then you cross the channel to Ni'ihau where you stop at this volcanic rock about 5 miles from the island and snorkel. Then you cruise around Ni'ihau and learn about the forbidden island which is very interesting. After that you cruise back to Kauai all the while they have excellent food and cheap drinks (if you drink which we dont). The whole thing was like from 6am till like 2pm I believe but it was well worth it. Excellent pictures from the whole thing we saw dolphins turtles and monk seals so I higly suggest you surprise her and take her on it. That my $.02

There's two threads going already, ha ha. I'd take tips from those who actually had their honeymoons here. There's just so much to see here, I'd invest in a good camera.

I'm paying $3.80/gal for premium. Just rent an Impreza RS or an Forester X and pay about $0.20-$0.30 less for regular. Sex should be free. If not, something's wrong. Kokee is an awesome drive...IMO, it's more fun than the sites, ha ha. Kona beans? Wouldn't you want some Kauai grown stuff? I guess you can get the Kona beans too. All in all, hope you enjoy it.

btw, let's try and keep just this one thread dedicated to your topic...we don't really need two.

Heh heh.....I've got a turbo Forester.

I guess if you had to choose between the Kauai and Kona coffee, I'd go with the Kona too. Get some Hawaiian Host Chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts while you're at it.

As for a convertible, I'd recommend getting the Mazda MX-5 over the Mustang. You'll thank me when you're going up/down Kokee and up to Hanalei.

Is it the same? The ones that happens at weddings here involve placing the paper money in one of the newlyweds mouths and its passed between the newlyweds, collected and pinned together to make a long ribbon and draped around the couple.
