A hiking group sounds fun
I know Amanda (svexy96) is a hiker too... where are you?
Favorite hike: Walk out to China mans hat at low tide than climb to the top
Hottest hike: Ka'ena point state park via Mokule'ia
Coolest hike: Jack *** Ginger Pool/ Nu'uanu trail
Safest hike: Aiea loop trail
I have yet to do much hiking on the Windward side, I am up for anything other than Stairway to Heaven.

WooHoo! Me and a friend were bored today, so we decided what the heck, lets trek up Mariner's Ridge! It was, for me, a lot harder then I thought it would be. We actually had to stop a couple of times on the steep parts. I cant believe how out of shape I am! But we made it to the top and back in about three hours. Here's some pics!
The last stretch to the peak, almost there!:

Almost at the top:

Finally at the top! Beautiful view of Waimanalo and Kailua/Lanikai beyond:

The Koolaus:

Peace from the top!:

All in all, fun day, and a great workout. Now I have to start training to get back in shape! I wanna do the other ridges, but if this is the easiest ridge, I've got a lot of work today! But hiking is great fun, we all gotta do this more!

Ted try and apply the crawl walk run method. We will probably have some rookie hikers so it would only be fair to start easy then work our way up. I think this would be sweet if we could do this once a month each month setting a new goal/harder hike.
