I'm pretty stupid when it comes to brakes, and yea I know I should do a search, but I'm too lazy right now. So here goes:

Could somebody point me to a link or give me a quick summary of the advantages/disadvantages of drilled and slotted rotors. I think I have a basic understanding of why, but would like some details.

I'll give you my quick novice answer from the bit of reseach I did, but I guarantee that Mike and Sean will give you excellent answers. San also has some excellent insight.

Slotted and drilled = most ventilation of the gas produced from the friction, but also weakest in structure.

Also, you don't have to do a search because everything you ever wanted to know about brakes, with little or no bias, you can find here. Here's the Stoptech kit I bought WRX stoptechs (PDF file)

Edit: Damn! Kwikdraw Wes.

Pat & Wes,

Thanks. I still need to finish reading it all, but most of my questions are already answered. I don't feel quite as stupid anymore.
