Hey HI locals, mainlander question

I'm from Chicago, and will be taking my honeymoon in your glorious state. Specifically, we'll be oh Oahu.

I just wanted to know, what camera stores do you have there on Oahu? I'm looking to buy a digital SLR camera, and the week it comes out, I'll be on the islands.

There are bunch of camera places here. I would recommend going to Francis Camera Shop. Some of the photographers that I know go there, they have good customer service. I am not sure how the prices are there, good customer service. I am just relaying what has been told to me.

Also Kaimuki Camera, its a small camera shop, but I know definately they have excellent customer service. the office I work for buys equipment from them.

Francis camera shop has some of the most outrageous prices, like buying a Value Meal at a Waikiki McDonalds(6ish compared to 4ish). They unfortunately have the best selection of cameras that I've ever seen.

If you're going to buy from them, I would try bargining with them. I was going to buy a battery for my pentax digital camera retail 60.00.

The sales guy asked me if it was for downloading, and I said yes. He recommended a memory card port for my computer and said if I bought the memory card port at regular price he'd sell me the battery for 45.00.

Well, I didn't buy either there, but I checked with pentax repair and the battery list is 60.00(full retail). You know the repair center alway(almost) has the highest price on items.

P.S. If you want a value meal from McDonalds, drive just out of Waikiki to get one.

Dont buy here. Just wait. It cant be that important. We pay a premium here for everything. I was looking for my Canon 1D here and they wanted about a grand more than anywhere else. I was able to mail order for way less.
