Did you ever hit boost? This could be a over boost CEL. So like I asked before do you have a......
Do you have a boost controller?
Do you have a boost gauge, if so what was the boost around when this happened?
You are going to make boost sooner with your new up & down-pipe. It would have been easy for you to over boost if you didn't adjust your boost.

is the cel still on and/or still in limp mode? since you already resetted already, reset one more and see if its still there. if its still on with a solid cel, try start the car a few times and then see if its still there.

if that doesn't work then...the only thing i can think of right now is that your egt sensor fried(if you put the sensor in your uppipe) but thats weird since you only installed it today and usually i hear of those stories of blinkin cel then limp mode a few months or weeks after uppipe installs.

but the sensor shouldn't fry this fast should it?
but yes...the egt sensor left in the new catless pipe will fry and gives you a trip down to limp mode!

I've only read that
it WILL fail, just a matter of time. I wouldn't install it knowing it could cause a problem.

Blinking CEL is usually a misfire. Did you for any reason disconnect any coil packs during the downpipe installation?
A bad EGT sensor as was suggested earlier can cause a similar "limp" situation - but the stalling at idle is weird. Sounds like mis-fire to me...
