Help DCCD switch how too?

Well I just sold my 02 wrx and bought a 05 STI and I got a DCCD switch that is suppose to be the bomb. I just broke 1100 miles on my car and will be changing my oil in the next day or two with synthetic oil. Anyway moving foward what and how does this switch work? Which is the best setting for 1/4 mile? There are so many arrows on it, it just confuses me a little. What setting does what? Help me guys. You da Man You Know

instead of asking questions that probably have already been asked you can use the search button on the top of the page.

as stated... it is recommneded to read your owners manual since. I find it hard to believe that people still don't read their owners manual when they spend this much money on anything...

Owners Manual

Funny yhing is I did read the manual but just want to hear what others have to say not just from what is read. It's funny how the owners manual doesn't talk about mods but we all do it. It's good to ask questions I think the more opions the more knowledge, I don't know everyhing so questions will be asked. Thanks to everyone who has replied so far

since all the questions have been answered- maybe i can add some input-

the dccd is great, but its really hard to be able to use it to its full benefit here. i have played with all the settings and one of my favorites is one step before lock. that and 65/35 is great.

you really can not enjoy these settings unless you are driving very hard on a "secure" road. if not you are just asking for trouble. the reason why i like the manual settings is because its more predictable for me. sometimes in auto it gives me too much "moderation" - especially in the corners(upon exit)

when i 1st bought this car all i drove in was automatic- now that i've had some time in this car i am falling in love with it all over again- but keep in mind that in the manual settings it requires a little more attention on your part- especially if you come into a corner too hot- it will break loose(if 65/35) or some major understeer (if front biased) since our cars tend to understeer a little try setting in 65/35 for starters.

one thing i noticed is that my driving style changes a bit depending on each setting. (not all six! just the 2 i mentioned)

hope that helps a little.

Thank you Thank you

Yes I am lovin the car with out even really touching my dccd, I bet it will come into more play once I hit 1500 miles which is about 300 miles away. Thank you Gdog for the info helps out a lot and it looks like I am reading right hear all of your guys help is greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows so I don't have to keep asking the same question that was probably asked a million times. It seems when I type something in the search menu I get a braod aray of threads none of which seem to have anything to do with what I am looking for. As you can tell from my post I am fairly new to this so please bear with me until I can be a little more knowledgeable with this site. Much Mahalos to all you guys I appreciate the feed back!
