JT-STI: i can help with the shipping. i can arrange to boat it in.

see if you can gather this information:
- the shipping size (LxWxH)
- Shipping weight
- how much UPS or FEDEX ground would be to "Rancho Dominguez, CA 90220"

if you get it pm me as i don't scour through the forum for messages.

I had a link to a site that sold batteries that were 11lbs and had 700 cold cranking amps for around $115. The where really small too.

Odyssey batteries are the best out there. They cost more than Optima but have an awesome reputation. You may want to check with Island Sound, they were the only local reseller for a long time (there may be others now)....and see what kind of price you can get with 5 guys. I've been considering the 925 or 1200. If there's interest I can make arrangements with them....they have limited hours until the new shop is built.

Well these prices you guy found are cheap. I have seen light weight batteries for $300+. Optimal makes a 1/2 weight battery that is 17lbs. They have it in both red and yellow tops. I think it is officially for civics or something like that, but either way it is half the weight and is much more powerful than the other light batteries.

is the one i got in my sti. works perfectly fine. specs were supposed to kill the hawker/odyessy 680. it was about 150 for batt AND mounting hardware for the sti. got it from kingofimports a while ago. fits awesome and looks tiny.

i just got a 680 for my civic though, so i'll see how that goes. should be enough.

imo local is always best unless the markup is unreasonable.

i could probably get shipping for $15/battery. total cost would be $132.00. this is only if it doesn't get reclassed as a hazardous shipment. if that was the case it needs to be a groupbuy and cost per battery based on 10 batteries would be an additional $20. I had the same problem with bringing in a traction treatment
