Hawaii Raceway Park Saga...Part 2

OK here we are at the second part to the ongoing saga of the battle over a new motorsports complex on Oahu.
We have two camps: the dirt trackers and all the other racers.
I didn't even know we had a substantial dirt track presence on Oahu...hell I've never even seen a dirt track car! They actually have some nerve trying to protest the new motorsports complex just because it won't have a dirt track. I'm sure it doesn't make financial sense to include it PLUS there's the fact that they are coming in with no plans other than to ask the city to take the old site over (no plans or incoming investors like Mike's plan).
Discuss what you think but I really feel that they need to compromise...
1. Approve the tax credit so Mike can build the new complex for the thousands of racers that now have nowhere to race.
2. Have the "dozens" of dirt trackers find an investor to pay for an addition to Mike's plans so there can be a dirt track in the complex (somewhere off to the side).

i know some of the dirt track racers. they were always at the track on saturdays and it's pretty fun watching. if i had the cash to build a car for the dirt track, i would.

Checked it out...seems the guy likes to **** and moan about the whole situation. All his hate stems from the fact that Mike has no plans of building a dirt track which may or may not be profitable.
Like I wrote earlier...these dirt track folks need to stop trying to derail the program and get on board by bringing in more investors to offset the cost of building a dirt track in the proposed complex.
It's a "put your money where your mouth is" kind of situation for them. They can either be part of the problem or part of the solution. If they feel so strongly that there should be a dirt track then they need to bring the money to help to build it.
Merely using eminent domain to have the old HRP brought back to life is NOT THE WAY to go. No offense but HRP is not in very good shape and I wouldn't trust the state or city to manage it. If the city took it over then I would think it would come under the Department of Enterprise Services to look after...those folks are already overworked as is with all the golf courses and Zoo they have to look after. Plus, they know nothing about running a race track.
Anyways, there is a simple solution to the whole matter I just hope that the dirt guys step up to the plate the same way that Mike has.
