No seriously, why did you guys buy 'powerful' cars...and then make them even more powerful? To brag about them?

If you're like me, you have questioned your judgement and wish that track days and going to the drag strip were more like playing Gran Turismo, where you could wreck and beat on your car all day long and it doesn't cost a cent. Doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to buy a $20k-30k car and then add 100-200hp to it and race it regularly, does it? Especially when your car payments take up so much of your paycheck that you wouldn't be able to repair it if you were to wreck it or break it.

That's why I'm very seriously looking at buying a 240 or something to make into a 600hp monster and which I wouldn't care too much if I wrecked it. (well, yeah. I would...just not as much as I would if I wrecked my WRX.)

If you're gonna make your all-around, high performance cars into even higher hp monsters and then race them regularly, you have to be prepared for the consequences. Or else, just start entering it in car shows....and if you haven't noticed, the Impreza doesn't really have the aesthetic features that some other cars do that would allow you to compete very easily.

All I know is that it is pointless to own a fast car and do nothing, but daily drive it. Take it to autocross or the track just for fun. You don't have to compete.

Man, that kind of sucks. I'd imagine that if I were to buy some titanium bars it'd be light, but cost me a fortune. If I bought steel bars, they'd still be pretty expensive but be heavy as crap.

Can't win.

Car Info: 02 wrx
The wrx is paid for...... And i also support my wife and three kids, plus i have a mortgage, and two jobs.
So when the oppurtunity came for me to purchase the kit, i jumped all over it. Knowing it wouldn't come around again, either cause i'm working or cruzing with kids on day off.....
When it's completely done i will continuously drag it
