What's the problem? I am no expert by any means on the subject but I do d/l torrents all the time. If it is an old torrent you are trying to d/l it may not have any seeders and you will not be able to d/l the file. Or you may want to try a different torrent downloading program. I used to use an older program that would not "initiate" the d/l on many files, but then I switched to Azureus and most of the files I attempt to d/l come through.

Make sure you dl from a source that has alot of seeds, however the more the seeds usually have more leechers, hence the slow down.

to me i think it half depends on the torrent and half depends on the program sometimes.
i perfer using bitcomet(set up kinda like kazaa) all the torrents are in one window, you can change the priority of each dl, and is the fastest that i have experienced. when finding torrent, try to find ones with high seeds then leechers. my favorite torrent site is mininova.org

I use utorrent. It's really really easy. All the settings are easy to understand.
it's also free.

Personally I like to use Azureus. And since I haven't used any of the other clients I couldn't help you with them. One thing I like about Azureus is that it has this thing called a health indicator, and it's kinda like a network assessment tool, and it might help you find out why you aren't getting the download rate you should be getting.

P.S. If you end up getting Azureus, I would be happy to give you any help you desire.

if you are using a firewall or router and you haven't opened up any ports, then you're screwing yourself.
Most important is the listening port. You have to look in your settings, figure out what port is you listening port and open it up on your router.

I had the same problem until I opened the ports. Sorry I didn't post this earlier, I just remembered.

I agree with sakebomb, torrentspy is my favorite, another a friend uses is isohunt.com and also ImprezaRSX is right on the router config and stuff, definitally make sure the ports are open, and it helps a huge amount to forward them to your IP address.

Azureus is the best client so far, only problem it uses java. ( but who care if you have a good pc ). Bitcomet is good too.

www.Torrentspy.com and www.mininova.org are my favorites.

Alright! Success.

I've already downloaded BMI's Hot Versions 25 and 27 (Tuner Battle Royale and Rotary Rocket, respectively) and I'm working on 26 and 76.

After I finished the first two, I figured I'd want to 'seed' 25 and 27 in the hopes that it was retributional. It doesn't seem like it, so I paused everything but the d/l of 26. Doesn't seem like there are many seeds for 76 so I guess it'll take me days.

There's an option to randomly select a port. Is this a good idea?
