Question Have to go to court... :(

I'm going to court to contest the ticket I got...."Loud Muffler"....My court time is 8:30 am today.....Any advice on what I should say???Since the ticket...I did get recon to make it Legal and I did put a sliencer on it since then...This is my first time getting a ticket like this and I was not told about the "30 foot law" -If you can hear a car from 30 feet away......it's too loud- *So the cop says* Does it sounds like the judge will let it go?????

You can tell them it is not your car. That is the best thing. It is one freebee you can get. I have been to court several time here, and it works perfectly. It is called invoking the good faith act.

Hey it is a loop hole in the system, either way I have not needed to use it, but he may. Just trying to help out, but I would use that rather than pay $50. You do not swear in when you talk to the judge.

Go to court take your recon paper in with you explain to the judge that the problem has be fixed and you are compling with the recon laws and you request the ticket either be dropped or reduced since Hawaii has no law against loud exhaust just recon. And don't lie they already know it's your car it is all on the ticket.

The funny thing is that when you go to the court they have no proof that it was or wasn't your car that you were driving.

What exhaust are you using?

Curious, what exhaust/downpipe are you using? Did the ticket happen in Waikiki where you work? If so, why are the cops not busting themselves for having loud dual exhaust mustangs - some are soo loud! Harleys? Blown cars cruising...Was the cop having a bad day? I am trying to make sense of all this...it kind of un-nerves me how blatantly non-standardized our system of justice is here in Hawaii...

Cops respect Harley riders. Racer-mobile drivers are another story...
