Just got 'em rebalanced,

yesterday. Tire Rack has some fancy balancing machine that simulates a bunch of stuff. Color me unimpressed. Eurosport rebalanced them and they're fine now. So far so good. Haven't been in the rain yet. Yeah, stiff sidewall and light tire weight.

tirerack balancing

yeah, i am gonna get my tirerack balanced setup rebalanced again because they sound a little off. not sure why. i couldn't have flat spotted them.

but who can complain when they mount them safely for free and 99% RTR. b

Tire Rack is paying

for my rebalancing. Give 'em a call. They'll pay up to $20 per wheel. Got all four done at Eurosport for $40.

Call their customer service

and there's a list of local installers on their website. They'll give you a fax number and probably their name, fax in the receipt and they reimburse you via credit to your plastic or a check (not sure which). You pay up front but you get it back. Cool?

Check this tire,

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/max.jsp
Nice price. Not a lot of people using it, so survey numbers may be a little skewed, but so far looks good.

jon,

i was at costco near dole cannery yesterday and checked out what tires they had in stock.

they had bridgestone re730's in 205/45/16 for $120 a tire and 225/40/16 for $129 a tire plus $9 per for mounting and balancing. these are with a 300 treadwear rating so they should last awhile. the mounting and balancing is warrantied for the lifetime of the tire.
