A promise ring has several meanings. A) You want to be with that person but have commitment issues, B) You want to be with that person, but its just not the right time in your lives, or C) You want to be with that person but either party is not available. All of which mean that you want to be in an exclusive relationship, without engagement or marriage. So bottom line; why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free?
