Why don't we organize a Getaway in Stockhom type "roadrally" here on Oahu?
We could plan a route.
Collect a $25 entrance fee for the pot.
Fastest lap around the Island wins the pot.
It would be late at night so there is less traffic. Also we can have a couple of check points to make sure people go the right route.
Now before you say " Dan that's illegal " it doesn't have to be if done right. It wouldn't be anymore illegal than the way some of you drive to work. If well planned this could be safe and fun.

"SCCA RoadRally
This kind of time and distance competition got the SCCA going more than 50 years ago. It's still going strong and easy to see why. All you need are the family wheels (be it sports car or pickup), and navigator and the urge to beat the clock. Rallies are run on public roads, and there are classes for everyone from beginners to mad-hatter experts." <----Taken from www.scca.org.

Dan, could you organize a "Getaway in Schofield?" You might have some pull in making it legit... Right.
The GIO sounds cool. Just make sure you throw in a trip through 13 corners.
How hard would it be to organize a road rally, here? I'll play. Once again, make sure 13 corners is involved.

how 'bout a gumball rally around the island or to a specific location?
start at sandy beach, go through town and end at dillingham airfield on the north shore.
cars would leave 5 minutes apart and entry would be like $20.
of course this would be done on a friday afternoon around 4 pm.
now that would be interesting!

Or go from one end of Kaena Point (Waianae) to the other (Dillingham Airfield) the long way. Just modify the course from the perimeter run (I have the course if anyone wants to take a look) We'd just have to modify some of the footpaths through Pearl, but that's not a big deal. It avoids the highway and sticks to mostly congested areas (but not TOO congested). It's about 137 miles.

If we do this do we have to drive a Subaru or something equvalent to a WRX. Hey Sean I'd like to drive the Eclipse if I have my tires and struts by the time this happens plan on buying that stuff by the end of Feb.
