GC8 Door cards? (and a project update)
Just wondering how often RS (4 door) door cards and inner door trim (sill) from the GC era pop up out here. Is that somethin I'd have to troll RS2.5 or NASIOC for? Now that we're gearing up with the dark grey RS lower dash stuff and center console I think it'd look goofy to have the light grey door cards and sill covers. ...specially 'since I plopped in the Japanese WRX seats (that both dsbaruuuuu and Ditchhanger owned at one point.) Man my car is a little hand-me-down *****.
Got rid of the yucky "L" carpet that was in there :character0074: and picked up some WRX carpet from another Hawaii I-clubber. It looks great in there and doesn't have the... "patina" that the other one did. HAhahahaha. Only thing we have to do is relocate the trunk release. For some reason Subaru moved it forward by a couple of inches from 98 to 02. Looks like we can run a couple of self-tapping screws below the fuel lines and secure it that way.
Gettin closer with the car! The other night we filled the engine up with coolant. Holy bajeezus does that thing take a lot - I think it was something likie 2 gallons of fluid. I had a Subaru "noob" moment - while I was sitting in the car watching the temp gauge I asked Dave (dsbaruuuuu), "Hey is it running rough?" He just laughed and said, "Nah - rev it. You'll see it's smooth." Oh yeah. That's uh... kinda.... uh... like the ... erm... Subaru noise and stuff.
DOH! The STi exhaust sounds good on there though. Not super duper loud. With the stock airbox and the recirculating BOV it should be a pretty quiet car.
So - if anyone has RS 4 door door cards (and the switches) I'd love to hear from ya.
We're gettin close. I really need to get out there and take a few pictures. Been lazy about that!

Then I'd have to take the drivetrain and suspension off of my car and put it on yours. As Whitney would say...hell to tha no!
Dave said I should meet up with you sometime and check out the suspension on your car - he recommended it for mine. I'll have to wait until the job thing gets sorted out 'cause funds are kinda tight right now.

Need to do a cruise soon to showcase the old school subys!! Of course everyone will be invited, otherwise, the 5 car cruise is going to suck!! Andy, have you been able to drive the car yet ? Hopefully it will be ready by July, so we can see it in action.

We started it up the other night and put coolant in it. Gotta bleed the brakes again and wire in the fuel pump controller. Once the hood goes on then we can get it aligned and all that good stuff. I'm worried that those stock struts are worn out from cruising around at lowered height for 47,000 miles. We'll see when it's finally running.
Tried to paint the light grey center console and stuff today. It's way darker than the dash is, so I don't know how it's going to look. Gotta troll 2.5RS forums to see if I can find reasonably nice stuff to put in there.
