Gauge Placement Opinions

For gauges would you rather have them in:

Obvious places like on top dash, steering column, etc?

or

Discrete locations like below AC controls, glove box, etc?

I want to get an oil pressure gauge but don't know where I should place it. GRs don't have the nice triple pod clock replacement :-( And I won't be putting it in the A-pillar due to the air bag there.

it's really up to you dude since you're the one that needs to be able to see them. the only other problem is if you hide them you'll need to be able to still see them when they are exposed or the gauge mean nothing.

If you don't want to drill holes in your steering column, you could use a DIN mounting panel if you have a single DIN radio. This way the gauges would be semi-permanent without having to "damage" your interior.

U could also do the frog eyes in the gauge cluster being that u are kinda limited on ur options. Also with that they are still visible by u but still a little discrete.

Just go with a clock pod or pillar pod. Most likely a pillar pod since your gonna go with just an oil pressure gauge.

IMO you want a gauge where you can see them at a glance. This is also why you may see gauges that are twisted in all sorts of funny ways. You position the gauge so that under normal conditions the needle points to 12 o'clock. This is great so that at a glance you can see if everything is normal. It allows you to spend less time looking at the gauge and more time looking at the road.

since it is only oil pressure it's not super important to be readily visible like a boost gauge would be, so just stick it where you want. as long as you can get to it to check it every so often. when you get a boost/egt/ect then maybe get the dash pod

I would agree with Dash pod since like you said the pillar pod wouldnt work out for you since you got the airbag

Oil pressure is every bit as important as any other gauge.

you could do this but this would be a boost gauge. I agree oil is pretty important but is the oil pressure the only gauge you're getting?
