Gasoline

What kinda gas you guys filling up your suby's with?

So far, I've filled two tanks with Costco just cuz I was in the area. Idk if using cheap gas is good for brand new car but i figure it's just gasoline anyways.

Can anyone confirm/dispell any rumors,myths, or truths with using different gases here? Some people tell me chevron and shell is good, while others say Oahu only gets two types of gasoline anyways so the big name companies just adding in their own stuff.

92 octane from chevron, shell, or 76 only. i kow tht chevron & tesoros gas comes from the same plant in campbell but chevron does add their own stuff.

I primarilary use 92 octane from Shell. 76 & Chevron would be my second and third choice. I dont use anything else beside those 3 brands..... Once and awhile, I'll will run 100 octane at the 76 station on king street. Give my STi a little scooby snack

LOL I've been using costco gas since I've bought the car. And to those that will knock on the gas being crappy and won't give my car the performance it really deserves, ask the people that went to maui how my costco gas was.

Even though our cars our mass produce,IMO each one of our cars are slightly unique. Test out afew gasoline brands, and see which gasoline your WRX performs best with.(For example: Runs smoother at idle and during regular driving, best gas mileage, any hesitation in power, ect......)

808 lgt leggie runs great with Costco gas,someone with that same car and setup may run better with another brand gas.

My STi ran like ****, with costco gas, making funny noises and clicking sounds. So I tested Chevron cuz I used it in my 2.5RS and never had a problum. My 2.5RS ran great with Chevron, my STi, not so much.

Then I tryed 76 in my STi (Same stuff I used when I had an WRX) and it performed really well with my STi...But afew months later, I start to use Shell and I notice my STi ran slightly smoother, and at idle it was very quite. After doing the math, the Shell gas ended up having the best gas mileage!!! So I stuck with it, had a custom tune using it, and been happy ever since.

What I trying to say is...Name brand or no name brand, every suby is diffrent and you just gotta try diffrent brands until you find one your suby reacts well too....gl

Yep, they stop bring it in afew months back, but there supplyer is now back and 100 octane is available again, but only on one pump at the 76 Station on King Street. This is the 76 Station located next door to McDonalds. the only downside is that It's not cheap. Your better off buying a can of C16 (116 Octane Race Fuel) at Rons Automotive for about the same price or cheaper.

sorry OT, but anyone ever heard of ETHOS FR+?

www.ecomates.com/impreza --click on products->ethos FR+

I'm a new Rep and still learning about this product, but my uncle's best friend uses it on his BMW 7 series in California and he says it works w/no problems. My aunt and uncle uses it on their daily drivers up there and they love the money savings from it. Its a new product produced in Cali, a solution to put into your gas about an ounce per 15 gallons of fill up. It increases your fuel economy 15%-20%, and reduces tailpipe emissions up to 30%. It's a "Green" product, and I've seen somewhere that it even increases HP. Check out the site, and if you want to purchase a 32oz bottle, PM me. Not saying to put it into our subies just yet, cuz I haven't done enough research for our cars involving the turbo and all, but for our other cars/DD, this could save some $$ and eliminate our tailpipe polution.

I ran my STi and Integra on Costco gas for auto-x, track days, and time attack with no problems at all. Unless you haven't had a reflash, not many people here (other than 2.5DOHC, scubaru, Ditchhanger, ShinRS, WRXed, 808Subaru, shiroikage, Infek, scsi, etc...blah blah) can really speak for really needing premium gas.

You guys will be fine running anyone's premium gas.

Dave, what's the price difference, if you don't mind me asking. I thought this gas station was a myth.
