Kaneohe Subaru is out of STi's until the next shipment!
Only if I had a lot full of em', I'd be a rich man!
Anyways, I was running late on my way to work today and being new and everything would look really bad if I was tardy....
so I'm on the Pali moving at a nice velocity...... nothing too outragous however...
and get to work on time...
a few minutes later I see the first customer pull up on the lot....happens to be a car I cut off around the tunnel..... (not really a rude cutoff, but sort of like a drive by switch in front of you kinda dealy)..... I was thinking to myself....oh crap I hope he doesn't recognize me as the STi driver
well I introduce myself and do a little investigating....turns out they want to buy our last white STi.... so I test drive them and he starts talking about how this blue STi flew by him on the Pali and pulled in front of him zooming down the mountain.... quote "man that thing didin't even use brakes around the corners!"
by now I'm just dying inside....I want to laugh and tell them it was me, but I dont know how they would react....so I stay quiet....(good thing my car was parked in the back)
well after the drive we negotiate and I finally get them a price they like.....so by this time the deal is done and were all laughing....
so since everyone was in a good mood I decided to tell them it was ME is the STi they saw on the way here..... and they were like
whoa that was you? and the mom looked at her son and kinda hinted at the fact that, (if you drive like that I'm gonna kick your A$$) but all was in good jest after I told them I was gonna be late for work and that I had just started and I would not have ever had the chance to help them if I drove the speed limit and they just laughed some more after I told them I dont "normally drive like that"
Anyways congrats Patrick and Mom on your new STi !

Hmmmm, I wonder if this might further the theory about a passionate salesman being one who has taken 'ownership' of what he's selling.
In my world, we are supposed to come up with at least 2 plans to accomplish any mission and then 'sell' the plan to the boss. Those guys who don't take 'ownership' of their plan, and sell it like their life depends on it, don't do too well.
I don't know if that makes any sense, but it's obvious you love your car and it probably comes through loud and clear when you try to sell.

also...out of all those sales 2 buyers looked around at other dealerships and told me the main reason they did not buy from the other dealer was because of poor customer service and bad attitudes.....
how so little can go a long way
