There 'are' ways, .... but you gotta know that right people. It's hard to get one over in one piece, but I talked to people that have, it just takes coordination over there, .... which is hard to do from over here. But that's why I want to get over there more often, .... PLUS I need to meet 'someone' that speaks Japanese. Or I could just learn it, but I'm kinda lazy sometimes.

What's sad is that I saw another BEAUTIFUL R33 GT-R for sale on a lot that was like a dream car to me, ......... and it only cost $17k!!

you could get one from motorex for about 60,000 to 80,000 dollars. they're located in gardena, california. it's pretty close to where i live, about 45 minutes or so. i've seen these on the street, and let me tell you, it is the s**t. i'm thinking about picking one of these up in a few months or so, just need a couple of paychecks more to finance it. thinking about a R33. also, you could import one from japan, however, it's going to be a pain in the a$$ and very expensive. it's better to just buy it from motorex.

60,000 - 80,000 thats a rip off i think SCC use to advertise them for 18,000 to 28,000.

well, i do know of one guy that bought a R34 v-spec for around 100 grand. so i'm pretty sure that if you want the top dawg, it won't be cheap. however, i guess you could get one for around 28 to 30 grand or so, might not be the type of skyline we all have grown to love. but a skyline is a skyline as my friend once told me. great car!

Used cars in Japan are very inexpensive due to Japan's tax laws regarding their cars. Alot of people just sell their cars after a few years just to get another car because of the tax. Hence, its not unusual to see a R33 Skyline GT-R VSpec for ~14k once in a while.
I rather have a R33 V-Spec than any R34 :-p. Way cheaper and much more nicer of a car imo. The R33 still holds the record

I think the Autosource still has that R33(or R32?) forsale.

Mario: 60-80k for a R34 VSPEC that is already DOT legal is not expensive at all.

Sean: I believe Motorex can convert a non-DOT legal R33 to DOT legal for about 25k. Find a R33 in great condition and you're set.

I'm not buying **** from motorex! I have my own idea's!! They mark the cars up so much it's REDICULOUS!! I will move to Japan if I want one that bad.

The Skyline at autosource is the GTS-T, right?? I thought it was ....
.... and I'm pretty sure that Atomic bought their Skyline through Motorex, .... so ....

After talking with some 'car guys' over in Okinawa, ... I see how people basically get their cars over here by slipping through the cracks, but obviously, getting an RX7 over here is easier than a Skyline. It's not all that hard though, if you don't mind walking all the red tape, ... and can speak Japanese! (I spent SOO much time just trying to comunicate with a couple people! Our 2hr conversation would have been 15 minutes if we could've understood each other better! )
