Exterior Survey
I don't remember the last time I made a thread on the regular forums, it seems like years. For those who don't know me, my name is John and I own a 2002 WRX, and one of the first generation guys :RockOn - not mine:
Heres a few questions I pose for alot of you who may be more familiar with exterior parts than I am.
First of all, because I am not too familiar with bodyshop rates and how much each normally charge(pretty sure its usually from quality), which bodyshops would you recommend to paint/mount a full bumper kit. Share your experiences if you have them. I already got a quote from Joel at JL which from many people I hear is the best out there.
I'm doing a huge upgrade for my bumpers and sideskirts. I'm getting the type1 Chargespeed full bumper(front/side/rear). The survey would pose this following question: how would you get it done?
Thanks all!
John

if you do decide to do it yourself....do it the correct way.. mock everything up to exactly how it would be in its finished stage....then remove it and get it painted professionally if you want...once you paint it, you really dont want to modify the kit.

i did it myself the first time (lips only, not full bumper like yours)
if you were to ask me again i'd probably have Joel do everything... only because bumpers seem a little bit more difficult

Hey John, just my 2cents...
Id say IMO to just mount everything yourself..I had experience with both installing lips and full bumper kits and the first time isnt always going to go smoothly especially if they're not pre-drilled..But its fun doing it..Last time I remember, I heard EURO SPORT charge like 100 bucks or something just to install a front kit but this was like back in the days..But painting, I would say get it done prof..

ChargeSpeed
I've seen first hand ChargeSpeed fitment and it's pretty G. I know for the full bumper replacements on a '04-'05 does require either modifying or removing your reinforcement bar (front), but not too sure on a Bugeye. But, once that's done, it lines up nicely. The one I seen did require some bodywork though, straight out the box. On that side of it, I was a bit disappointed. But, it wasn't like the typical Honda $200 full body kit deals. Test fit everything first, paint, and then installation will be a snap. Good luck
