Heard alot of EVOs are crashing!!! The Red one is being worked on, that's why we didn't see it at the last track day. I heard that the yellow one was wrecked by the girlfriend hitting her friends car, and I hear that the headlights alone are like $1,300!!!
And finally a brand new one, not even sold was discovered having one of it's front side tire and suspension all bent up like going into a curb. No saleman 'fessed up yet. Finally an EVO at MSRP!!!!
Maybe having a faster turning steering ratio isn't all that good huh? Heard the car can just turn on you if you're not paying attention.

Driving a 110HP FWD car is differrent than driving a 275HP AWD car. There is less room to be stupid. They are just learning the hard way.

My Friend Darryl(dude with the Evo 5), kinda sorta drove it. Said he could only test out the bottom end, which there was NONE, before a dude ran out on the track and said to slooooooow down since it was wet. It was for a photo shoot for Mitsubishi. He did say that the steering is way FAAASSSST!!!

Darryl, Dan and Tim are the three guys who I'd love to see test drive the EVO like it should be driven. I think that their perspectives would be most interesting.
As far as power goes, it seems as unmodded they aren't all that impressive down the quarter mile, but apparently they are pretty easily modded, ref. Alfriedesq over on Nasioc. That guys is putting down some crazy numbers.

Well I drove a EVO VIII today and I have to say it's a really nice car. They let me take the Demo EVO out so I got to play alittle.
There is just two things I don't like about it.
1) The interior and stereo suX yO! It's just like a base Lancer!
(expect for the seats, they rock and are much better then the STi)
2) The Price
$34,995 is as low as they would go today.
Now here are some of my opinions on the EVO VIII
a) The EVO VIII's suspension kicks booty, it just feel great!
The STi's suspension feels like a 4X4 truck, compared to the EVO VIII
b) The EVO VIII is not as fast as a STi - Period!
c) The EVO VIII is not worth the Hawaii price - Period!
d) If the STi and EVO VIII both had 2.0L engines at around 275HP, 6-speed tranys and cost the same......I'd have to say, I'd get a EVO VIII because of the EVO's steering and suspension.
e) The STi is a better overall deal - Period!
I wouldn't trade my STi for an EVO VIII but the EVO VIII would be a killer 2nd car. That's my fast $.02 review.
