I mean, being realistic...
at the moment, the new MR is a better car than the current STi. They already had us suspension wise...and with this new turbo, they gettin us on the performance side...like I've said a few times before, Subaru's gotta do a major step up...

The comparison between the EVO IX and the current model STI is like splitting hairs. Although Road & Track chose the EVO, Motor Trend chose the STI. All in all, they are two great cars in a class all by themselves.

Wow the boost lag was the funiest thing I have ever seen, clutch was bad, and the turning radius was so small. Sure the MR is fast but its only worth it under the right gear, I would stick to my STi any other day.

not saying I wouldn't take an STi over ANY evo ANY day! but I'd love a huge twin scroll ball bearing turbo from the factory...under warranty ya know...

I
own a Subaru, but I'm not blind to other cars. The Evo is at least 100 pounds lighter than the STI (and that's being nice), has almost identical hp with .5 liter less displacement, and by all accounts handles better. The boxer engine puts weight lower, but is a pain to work on. The exhaust piping is long, where the Evo piping makes use of a FMIC (stock) a no-brainer. Modding an Evo is fairly cheap also. If you own an STI, it's a great car. But the fact that you own one doesn't make the Evo inferior. They're both great cars. Open your eyes and you'll see one isn't better than the other, they both have their own advantages. Watch out for that WRX in your rearview, it might be me.
