like i said b4 i love them both. if i had the moeny i would own both. one of the reasons i didnt get one is that the dealer markup here in hawaii is ridiculous

the rear bumper is sweet, but that sucks about the interior though. if i were younger, or not married, the interior probably wouldn't matter as much. now i'm becoming an ooold man

[QUOTE=WRX151]Love the EVO, but does it have the grunt of the STI???

Not sure of the USDM spec, but if you watched the latest Hot Version DVD-the EVO IX will pull past the present Spec C. The Spec C being the best in its class prior to the release of the EVO IX. They also did a rolling start in 5th or 6th gear and the EVO pulled away from the Spec C, so the EVOs torque/boost is presently better. But then again, I am talking about the JDM models, so we'll just have to wait and see what we get here in the U. S., then there is that ever present price gouging that Mitsubishi will do here in Hawaii.

well, they can mark up all they want, all you have to do is save up to hawaii's dealer's markups, fly to kali, buy either the STI or EVO at MSRP, cruise it to vegas and gamble for a few days, then ship it back here and fly home.

thats my thoughts exactly....its cheaper to fly to cali buy one there and ship it back and still be lower than what they are asking for here. i even told the dealer that and of course you know they were in complete denial. then the funny thing was he tried to justify why they marked it up so much. oh well i really cant hate that much i guess if i cornered the market as far as mitsubishi's (in hawaii) id probably do it too

i've sold 2 cars to shippers(one for matson- and one for young brothers) both of them admitted that ripping it from ship to shore is a Job benefit. especially cars that are privately owned- dealer cars are not so bad- at least from what they told me-

i agree/disagree with mark-up.. depending on the car and how much etc.
in hawaii everything is more expensive. period.

best way to buy from mitsubishi hawaii... go in there "loaded". have all your ducks lined up. meaning financing, insurance and research and offer what you think is a fair profit for a dealer. either they will say yes to a profitable deal(assuming you guys offer a fair offer and not some crazy lowball based on your budget and not the actual "market value" of the new car) with all the funding taken care of... which means it's an easy deal... or say no.

i may be a little biased...but the 9 looks a little blah- i say go my06 sti- so many refinements since 2004

But who's faster on the track??? Still waiting for the EVO guys to start represneting.

Don't get me wrong. I love both cars, just sick of hearing how much better the EVO is, yet no one out there to prove it.

note: needs bittorrent

edit: btw you'll see it smoking the evo 8, evo8 mr, the wrx, and the STi on the track. i'm not sure if it faces the spec-C though.
