EVO 8 is here
saw it on the way home from work today. The dealership next to 5 star had a yellow one.
sticker price is 28,XXX, with all the taxes and crap, it came close to 30,XXX. So I asked the guy if that's the price, and he gave me a pretty sly grin and said no. heheh. Expect it to be close to 40k.
sorry no pics, but we all know what it looks like anyways.
just thought I'd share.

What a rip-off! It does not even have all the bells and whistles of the Japan model. Surely Mitsubishi of Hawaii does not understand this segment of the market. If Hawaii Subaru dealers can offer the WRX at MSRP and the local Mitsubishi dealers want to play the BS game of price gouging, they are in for a rude awakening.

Whats funnier is that Shiv dyno'ed 3 USDM Evo 8's so far and each of them got about 180awhp on his dyno. His Dyno Dynamics dyno is pretty conservative but on the same dyno, he had stock WRX's dyno at 160 awhp. Thats just 20hp less.

What a waste of time and money. Mitsu screwed the pooch more ways than one this time...
rexstang and i went down and looked at the evo tonight too. just gotta say that for the $28,000, msrp, it's a sweet car. but not for $42,000, which is what they are asking for.
i do like the brembo's, enkei wheels, front mount ic and 16g turbo. regardless of the price it is a nice car. the 4g63 has got lots of hp potential. modded out, it will be badass.
can't wait to see the sti!

Some rich ricer is going to buy it......
1) Put some stickers on it
2) Rev on every Subaru he sees
3) Talk mad **** about his EVO
4) Have one of the "tuners" here on island "hook" his car up for the shows.
And when the STi comes out he'll sell his EVO so he doesn't get killed by us and buy an SUV.
WTF!!What does that dealer thinks he has? 42K?????Jeeeezus!I admit, Mitsubishi has upped the ante on the WRX, but priced at 42K even when the STi (35K or so) is not out yet, that is just plain idiotic. At that price, the EVO is dead before even hitting the streets. Hope Hawaii Subaru dealers doesn't follow suit when the STi arrives.
