First off, to Jeff...you're a good guy and it's nice to share flying stories with someone. I have no animosity towards you...but it was a bad decision to air out your personal situation with your employer/ former employer. I know we are all friends here and "sharing is caring", but some sensitive issues should be kept internally, not broadcasted on the evening news.
To Jon...I understand your plight and the conduct of the service department is unacceptable in any way shape or form. I cannot believe that someone would do such a thing and think that they could possibly get away with it. However, anyone could have figured out how this turned out if it was once again broadcasted over the internet. This is by no means saying Jon shouldn't have posted about his situation. I just feel that asking for an opinion over the board wasn't the best way to go about it. If he brought up his concern and they scoffed at him and told him to fu ck off, then by all means.
Finally to Chris...being in sales as long as you have been, you deal with a lot of crap and normally have to take it. I understand you have to defend yourself and your integrity, and I do understand the warranty situation (as we've discussed it once while I was checking out the STi's when they first came in) and your willingness to help some people out. I'm in sales as well, so I know how it feels to be beat down by a customer and have **** smeared all over you...but in the end you have to come out of there smelling like a rose and wearing a smile on your face. More importantly, the customer should walk away with the same feeling. Whether it's me dealing with instruments that don't work for a customer that my company didn't even sell them or you dealing with a customer who says someone screwed with his car, it's our job to make sure they are happy when they leave. In my opinion, this could have all been avoided if you guys sucked it up and took it up the butt and gave Jon what he wanted...you guys would have come out ahead looking like heros, despite a bad situation. After Jon was happy, I would have kicked the **** out of the ******** asswipe who fu cked with his car!
I'm one of the first members of this site in Hawaii. I still love my RS as the handful of us that have them do. However, with this type of interaction over the past few days, the glance into the corprate politics of Schuman Carriage and the situation regarding service work, I seriously doubt I would ever buy another Subaru again...not because I do not like the car, cause we all love our Subies, but for the all the crap I've read here. I know, I know...this stuff may happen at many dealerships and we may never know about it...but everything can change if certain decisions are made correctly. I'm just saying...if I was buying an STi, how do I know that some fu ckhead isn't going to thrash on my $33,000 baby and call it a "test"after warranty or other work. I've been lucky to nbot have to deal with any warranty problems on my car (cause it has so many damn miles on it), but I'm now more inclined then ever to put a JDM swap in my RS, complete it, and forego buying an STi.
The bottom line for EVERYONE on this site is this: As much as we use this site as a communication tool between each other, delicate situations like the ones we've ben reading about over the past few days should be kept private or handled to the fullest extent in private before posting it up on the board. I don't like having to go through every single post and deciding whether to lock down or delete a thread, no to mention stirring a hornet's nest or making bad blood anywhere...that's not what this site is here for.
Now that you've read all of that...
DO NOT REPLY TO THIS IS YOU ARE GOING TO CONTINUE THE DISCUSSIONS FROM THE PREVIOUS THREADS...I WILL DELETE THOSE POSTS. THIS THREAD IS JUST FOR EVERYONE'S INFORMATION

How is this Any different than telling everyone bad experiences with any other Vendor????
I KNOW other people, including myself, have had a hard time with Schuman, ..... so Please tell me Why we are going to "not" talk about it again????

I'm not saying that you shouldn't talk about it...I'm talking about the way the threads always seem to go bad fast. In fact, I said that he should have posted about it, AFTER he confronted them about it privately. If Jon confronted Chris about it and Chris said to basically fu ck off, then hell yes...post it up. However, as customers, we need to handle things a certain way; reciprocally as a business, they are SUPPOSED to handle matters a certain way...that's all I'm saying.

ok, well I just think either way, that it's good that 'some things' have come under the spotlight. I have never liked the way people have tried to 'strong arm' individuals in certain circumstances. And since we live on a rock, some people think that is "ok".

It's not so easy to "strong arm" a group.
Everyone in Hawaii needs to become a better consumer IMO. If the "that's the way things have always been, so I can't do anything about it" attitude continues, the bad bussiness practices will continue, PERIOD!

Honestly,
A consumer who has been wronged by a business (which you have), and has tried to deal with the business amicably for just compensation without success should most definately contact the BBB. I would.
You should provide the BBB with a link to these threads in addition to documentation and taped recordings of your dealings with them. You should do this not just because of your loss but because if companies can get away with illegal behavior what makes you think they won't do it again to someone else.
