Easy/cheap way to drop my front end?
I'm sure many others have gone through this before... I'm running a set of STi goldies on my '05 WRX. The back looks near perfect to my eyes, but the front looks too high, almost as if the front were jacked up.
Is there a solution to this that is not too expensive and won't mess up the handling? How much work is involved? I don't want to drop the front too much, just enough to make it look "normal". Thanks.

what springs are you running? stock? aftermarket?
in all actuality it is even, it is just the fenders are cut higher in the front. also you can look into RC camber plates in the front that will drop you down another 3/8 of an inch and this will give you the even look that you desire.

I'm running stock springs. Are camber plates difficult to install? Will I need to re-align after installing?
I'm somewhat conversant on engine mods, but I know exactly zero about suspension.

Yea, any height adjustment you will need to re-align. Please don't cut the springs... leave that for the Civics (sorry). A set of Tein S is nice beginner to start... depending on your application.

show drop = tein s tech will kill stock strut
performance drop = swift mates well with stock sturt
Or you can go fully adjustable coilovers.

not exactly cheap but, i would go with the RCE camber plates like others have mentioned (around 400 bucks) + drop springs...
maybe prodrive or JDM sti pinks. i wouldnt go with tein, unless you buy coilovers. S-techs are for looks, H-tech is for more comfort, so i still say they also for looks. prodrive or sti should perform well, but are not as low. normally im for performance over looks, if you just want the looks tein will be fine.
oh i forgot you have a wrx. some say any springs you install have the potential of killing your stock wrx struts, so i would just upgrade that as well or buy coilovers... which ever route you go, you will need an alignment. just save up and do it all one time, so you only have to align once.

Camber plates would do it as mentione above.
You can also get Swift to custom wind you a set of springs for the drop to your liking and whatever stiffness you desire. Ok not really infinite sizes but you get the point.
Call my friends at www.turninconcepts.com they can help you...word?

generally speaking you'd want to install your camber plates and have them aligned to the setting that would be used the most (i.e. daily driving). Then when you go to say auto-x or similar event (if they ever open a track again) you can adjust then put it back.
this is also easy to do just takes some time to adjust.
