driverside transaxle seal

alright so when I pulled the axle out, my car gave me a gift. A little circle spring thing. Where the f- did this come from? Anybody?

it is either the radial seal spring for the transaxle seal or the spring clip that keeps the axle in the diff. I'm guessing it is the radial seal spring for the transaxle seal.

You can see it in the pic below:


If that is what it is, your best bet is to replace the seal. Putting the spring back in may be harder than replacing the seal all together.

If it isn't that, it may be this:



If that is what you have, just put it back on the axle.

It's the radial seal spring.

Thanks for the quick reply! Would they have this at subaru? It's a no go for checkers/ napa.

It's a garter spring.. -

If you can find the seal if came off from, put it back on.. but since it's out already, replace the seal.
