Cool. Looks like it was converted to RWD, but still cool nonetheless!

Hey, I just got the SCC mag a couple of days ago to read on the airplane.

The RWD convo WRX in there is stated to have come from Hawaii (before the convo). Anyone remember a guy named Alan who got a 13 flat w/ n20? It says it was the 1st engine replacement on the island.

i heard that a company made a test rwd drive setup for wrx's. they tried it here locally and they said the car felt awesome. the awd drivetrain was soaking up a crapload of power. of course, this was someplace that has a dyno that i won't mention.

alan? car ping'ed more than a ping ping match. heard it at a track day and sure enough somewhere after the end of turn one, he didn't come back.

So what your saying is that the stuff that is left behind from the awd setup is heavy or something? Why won't you mention the place that had the dyno? This just sounds so interesting. I know Mitch was throwing this idea around when he was here so he could dyno his car. Tell me more please B.

Mario,

What he's saying is, have you looked at the thickness of your rear half-shafts? If someone was putting 300 whp towards those skinny shafts, they'd snap pretty quickly. The guy even fessed up to that in the magazine article.

What Mitch was talking about was a temporary fix (some sort've modification that you could buy from Chiptorque) that would make your car RWD so that you could dyno it. After you were done with the dyno, supposedly you could take off the 'thing' and be back to AWD.
