Crazy Idea....What you think?

I recently picked up a GoPro Camera, and I love this dam thing.....I've notice that there are quite afew of us here in HIIC with this camera. So I've thought of an intresting idea.

Now that Round Top Drive / Tantalus is freshly paved, I wanted to make a video of someone in a modded subaru attacking it. To make the video sick, I would need multiple camera angles mounted on the vehicle. This is were you fellas come in....I need more than just my one camera, and we would need some volunteers.

Besides my GoPro Camera, we would need 3 to 4 borrowed GoPro Cameras to get the angles we want.

-Roof Center Facing Forward
-Roof Center Facing Backwards
-Dead Center Front Bumper
-Driver Side
-Passenger Side

We can be station at diffrent points on Round Top Drive / Tantalus as spotters, and to get some outside "fly by" shots. I have two way radios we can use to organize all this.

And we need one brave driver who can drive like the devil.....I was hoping the camera car and driver would be a certain "Carbor Fiber GC" **Cough** I would do it, but my driving skills and tires suck, so the video would FAIL.

Just throwing it out there. Let me know what you fellas think....If it seems like something that gets alot of intrest. Maybe we can plan a date and do a meeting before hand to better organize and make it as safe a possible for driver and volunteers...

if you take out the rubber seal out of the case and switch the sound output to LO, you actually get better, louder sound. not sure if you did that, but somehow my vid sounded louder.

Good Advice, I'll try that tomorrow on my day off. See how the sound quality is.

yeah i tried that also and you can actually hear the exhaust and stuff but it picks up a lot of wind noise... thinking about how we could eliminate that and still pick up surrounding sounds.

and oh yeah, vimeo seems to upload in better quality than youtube, at least it did with my video.

what about getting another seal and cutting a slit where the speaker is so that you'll still get the surrounding noise but not the wind?

i can't see the video at work since they block youtube... here's how to watch the video if you have an iPhone.

1. Using Firefox highlight the text in post #3 (or the post containing the EMBEDDED video)
2. Right click on the right side (above the quote button)
3. Click "View Selection Source" and it'll show you the youtube video link (since Dave didn't share it)
4. On your iPhone go into YouTube and click on Search
5. Enter the video number in the search field (in this case it's "RhPo4bCCq28"). YouTube videos either look like this: http://www.youtube.com/v/ or like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=. The video number will be either after the last / or the =.
6. The video will show up.

Sorry I'm bored at work.. LOL

Wow, sounds cool... but illegal.

Daytime would be too dangerous, you can't see anyone around the blind corners, and there are a lot more cars/bikes/hikers, so that leaves nighttime... Of course loud cars up tantalus at night would be a sure fire way to get arrested. ( esp if video evidence is found mounted to 3 or 4 parts of the car )

Still, if you guys do it, good luck, it does sound like a cool video idea. Too bad there wasn't a legal way to shut down the road and film...
