Computer purchasing advice
I've decided I've had it with my four year old mac and I need to get a PC. Here's what I want. ATX motherboard w/ 333-400 fsb, amd xp 2600 or faster and AGP 8X, Nvidia fx 5600 256mb video card, and one of those nifty window cases with a bunch of fans. I can get everything pretty cheap off the web except the case, they want like $40 for shipping the damn thing. Anybody know a good place to buy cheap generic computer cases (besides compUSA-its still cheaper from the internet)? Or anybody know anyone who works at compUSA who can get a deal? I might buy the MB and CPU and stuff locally too if I can find good deals, but compUSA can't even come close to ebay prices. Oh, I also need a 15"-17" flat screen with DVI and Vga analog/digital support.
when i pieced my computer together early last year. i bought all the items from the same place to save on shipping(newegg). i think it was like $60 to ship my tower, ram, cpu, and motherboard but it was sill much cheaper than compusa sales or even byteware sales.

unfortunately, newegg isn't the "king" of the internet hardware place no more...their service went down the plank now that everyone uses them.
what i would recommend is
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe(Nvidia NF2 chipset) for the motherboard.
Hard Drive...WD Raptor 10,000rpm SerialATA drive
Vid Card...Gainward GF4 Ti4800(FX series has yet to please me)
Thats a good starter computer. Case all depends on how leet you want it to be. If you're doing alot of multimedia(video editing, photoshop, etc) go with Intel. I'm running P4 2.6ghz w/ Hyperthreading overclocked at 3.575ghz at 1100mhz fsb(275mhz fsb x 4quad channel) with just fan cooling and its rock stable.
