I have a Cobb Stage 2 AP and i love it. No problems at all with it. Shipping was a little ridiculos but i ordered right as they were coming out. I would probably do Vishnu if i was Local it would be nice to have a Dyno tune and to Mod along any path as i see fit rather that the set path for Cobb. We'll see what happens with the access tuner.

unless you plan on going to shiv's place for a map, i'd stick with cobb. this has been discussed a lot so a search will turn up a lot of information.

i realllllllllllly liked vishnu's exhaust, but i heard bad things about actually getting in contact with them. i have heard recently that things have gotten much better.

If you guys get a good number of people, I can arrange for Shiv to fly down to HI and tune you guys. We have done it once before (with UNICHIPS, haha) and we can do it again.

If you guys trust me, and my personal opinion, I say Vishnu. Hands down. I have seen it all. I have tried it all. And the only person who I would ever let tune my car would be Shiv.

For the money (and accessibility), Cobb rocks.

I'm stage 2 and couldn't be happier.

I waited

over a year for a map Cobb said they'd make. Even purchased a specific intake for the map Cobb preferred. Then Cobb decided they weren't going to make my map and I was out in the cold. I have a few Cobb stickers if anyone wants them. I haven't tried any of Vishnu's products, but they are pricey.

hey that sounds great!!! but sorta the same thing carlo was trying to do. didnt have many interested peeps in it though.. i guess it would be good to "sampo" the tune. kinda like a once in a lifetime thing i guess if your gonna be stuck on this island forever.. but the price has to be reasonable too. but i understand not too cheap since he is going to be flying down here for us...

I wouldn't

put too much value in the numbers tuners quote. Dyno X vs dyno Y and different mods, temps, hp vs whp, etc. Both Cobb, Vishnu, TurboXS, and many others are capable tuners. It would be nice to have an AWD dyno here to settle the "who's best" question. I would also judge 1/4 mile times with the same bias. Mods vs. driver vs. temps etc. And is your tune for the long haul or on the ragged edge? You can have a very fast car and suck at the drags (or just the opposite). I'm running 10:1 ~ 11:0 AFR at full boost. Nice and safe. Haven't even seen anyone else on island with a wideband O2.

Do you still have to splice into the ECU lines for Xede or is there now a plug in harness for the STi?

I was very happy with Vishnu Stage 1 when I had the WRX wagon. I'm playing around with a Cobb AP, but may eventually go back to Vishnu for my STi.

They have PnP harnesses, IIRC.

Right now I'm only doing AutoX though may do some track days in the future. I'm in no hurry for more power, but eventually want to add a TBE. When I get around to a TBE I want to have some type of engine management in place. I picked up a used AP for this reason, but I've always been a bigger fan of Shiv's tuning.
The availability of a PNP harness will probably shift me back in the Vishnu direction.
