Check engine light and cruise control light flashing

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem and if so, where did you take your car to get it checked out. Thanks.

You have a code in the ecu.Cruise is disabled whenever the CEL comes on. I would get a obd2 code reader to find out what it is. You can borrow one from someone or buy from an autoparts store or amazon for less than $50

It helps to know what is causing it as well. Do you have an Access Port? They are a handy tool to have, if you have any mods done, there shouldn't me any reason why you don't have one. If you don't have an AP, find someone with a code reader or ask someone to nicely bring one to the meat on friday.

Yeah, best thing to do is get the code read to see what it is. It could be an emissions problem. Did you recently put gas? If you did your gas cap could be loose which would cause the CEL and cruise control to flash.

Could have sensed knock, could be vacuum leak. Sti's get this when it's time for an air pump delete. Could be bad gas. Also could be the gas cap as previously stated.

I got this too. It's the infamous air pump. At least that was my CEL and luckily mine is stuck open but I do need to eventually have it fixed and re-tuned most likely

happened to me when replacing the air filter, the MAF sensor connector got dirty when put back together and didnt have a good connection. I cleaned the connector, and the issue was resolved.

the cruise control flashing is a count down of when your engine will blow. by count you have about 2,000 flashes left before total destruction.

seriously this thread is WORTHLESS with out pulling the code and posting it here or any other forum to digest and advise on your issue..

There is no way to stop the count down once it begins...... your only chance to save mankind is to drive your car off a cliff. Good luck...

If that doesnt work option #2 is to buy this
Amazon.com: Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool for OBDII Vehicles: Automotive
plug it in and get the code. Go back to your computer and type the code in google, and it will show your ways to fix your code.

Yeah you need the code but when the check engine light is rapid flashing it is a BIG deal that needs attention. Doesn't help your situation when nobody offers to pull the code for you.

While you wait check your battery if it is dying and also check your coil pack wires. When the CEL flashes its USUALLY a misfire=BAD thus it flashes. Again cant be sure until you pull the code and I am going off a past experience of mine.
CHECK the wires and see if they are FULLY plugged into the coilpacks. One of my clips broke after a engine pull clutch change and that was the culprit. Some superglue fixed that but I found a source of just the clips with some wire on NASIOC and plan on fixing that when I change plugs again.
