Cheap PC on island?

My Dads pc just took a dive when the power supply died and I cant find a replacement anywhere. Its a strange mini Micron and contacting them has lead nowhere. Been all over the island looking for one and now I just need to get him a new desktop. I can get new for about $400 + shipping from Dell/Gateway, but need to get it here before we leave next Thursday.

So if anyone knows a decent shop lemme now. Going to run around tomorrow and look at the usual lame stores like CompUSA and such.

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

I work at PTC across from CompUSA in town, I know we got a refurb HP, I think its like $499. I can see what I can do for you if you are interested.

I start work at about 5:30pm, drop by after 5:30pm and I'll see what I can do.

Come on Boom. I was waiting for your "build your own" speech. Where is it?! I think I might just get a case and move this stuff. Its still atx motherboard and all that, but not sure I want to go to the hassle.

I would but for your price, I rather get a cheapie than build one.

Plus, I work at CompUSA now

i use them as a 12v dc source for charging rc car batteries...

Lemme check. I may have 300w, sitting a box somewhere, unless I threw it away already. I'll go check.

Micron has everything set up where only their parts will work with their PCs. You can modify a store bought PS to work, but it does take some work (soldering wires and reusing parts of the old PS). Its not easy, but its a cheap fix.

Thanks guys, sorry didnt read this before just getting one from CompUSA. Bought a cheapazz one and hate it. The Compaq p4 2.7 with celeron, slow as hell. Also went to load XP Pro on it and it bombed and now the recovery wont work so I just blew everything away and started over. Oh well, whats new. Just hate reloading OS and having to get tons of stuff from old hard drives.

Anyone know a way to get the bookmarks from a hard drive that wont boot into xp? Been awhile since he did an export of his favs. Hoping I can just go into the hard drive and into the c:\windows\favorites folder. Arent they there?
