i went to wallmart the other day and i noticed the mobil one syn was only 4.87/qt. So i bought 5/ Am i buying something different or is it just cheaper there?

 

i never heard af anyone in here using royal purple... but i know the distributor for hawaii if you wannna give him a try. it is like 60 bucks a case. full synthetic... the only catch is... the oil really is purple. made my 5.0 run like a champ(@170,000 miles...which to this day still beats my stock wrx)

 

hey marcus, my friend has a used for a month blitz DD BOV for sale, hes asking like 170/obo. its still pretty new, and i'll help you install it if you want, its not hard at all... i use mobil 1 full syn also, i buy mines at costco for like 24 somethin for 6 quarts, i guess thats pretty cheap, but i'm not sure why royal purple is sooo much more expensive, but i know that royal purple is a lil better. but for the price, i think i would go with mobil 1.

 

its kinda expensive....60 bucks for a case of 12(60 bucks and change) and this dude dist. for the whole island of oahu. operates out @ sand island area

 

That's only 5/Qt. Royal Purple is good, no doubt. For that price, I'd go for it. I can't say that it's better than Mobil or Castrol (I read up ojn oil a few months back and AMSOIL came out on top on a few tests. 2nd was Castrol, 3rd was Mobil. Don't know if they did RP) but it should be good. Search around online for some of those "independent" tests. Both this site and NASIOC have some good links.

You're gonna pay near $5/qt for Mobil or Castrol anyway.

 

Hey guys i heard that royal purple eats away your rings after awhile. I used to use RP on my supra a few months ago. It did make the supra run the best. i tested mobil 1,castrol,etc and royal was the best the only reason why i stoped was because of that ring eating part.
