Cheap home AC
Cheap home AC
I've been looking around for a 12,000 BTU Wall unit AC. Right now Costco has the best price on a Sharp system. Does anyone else know where I can find some for a better price? Thank!
Oh yeah the unit has to be new I plan to keep it for a while.

Home Depot always got some decent ones too... but I know Sears only carries Kenmore on their AC...(at least at that time when I was looking for an AC) and they're pricey but good brand...
go to Lowe's at Waikele. 25,000-35,000 Btu for under 400$
helpin hand ah; spring time surprisingly chilly and then. mid-low 70's-nothing higher than 85 degrees this year thats for sure. samsung a/c brands seemed to have lasted me 3 years so far. i have 3 30,000 Btu units, works great for the whole house surprisingly if left all on. my electric bill only minah birds bah!!

The Sharp units are pretty good based on Consumer Reports reviews. I am not sure if it is still in effect but Energy Star units get a $75 rebate.
I got my a/c from Sears (Kenmore but made by LG). They have typical features like on/off timer, thermostatic control, 3 speed fan, fan only, remote, etc.
My only problem was that the compressor never turned off on the unit in my son's room. I swapped out the ECU from a/c unit in my garage since it is undersized for my garage anyway. Also, they, like all wall units, are loud compared to split air systems.
I highly recommend getting split air in an area that you hang out in a lot since they are a lot quieter compared to wall units. I put the wall units in my kid's and upper living room. I should have put in (and will eventually) a split unit for the upper living room though. I put split air units in my master bedroom and living room and it is worth every penny. Mitsubishi is good but very expensive. Fujitsu and Sanyo are good/cheaper alternatives.

thanks everyone im going to check out sears and a few other places today. I wish i could get a split unit but housing on base will no let me install so it has to be a wall or window unit. The nice part is no electric bill haha
