Changing wheel (I'm a noob)
I know how to put on and take off wheels, but I was wondering when you put it back on are you supposed to tighten to a specific torque/amount? Or will you be fine if you put it back as tight as possible?

Tighten your lugs in a star pattern. Torque them down to 60ish ft/lbs I think. Look in your manual, it says the torque spec in there.
edit: I forgot to add make them hand tight first and tighten each one a little at a time. Don't just wrench them on one by one.

Check the Sears ad... I swear their torque wrenches are on sale at least once a month (it's not currently on sale though)

Tighten in a star pattern (as already mentioned) and tighten in at least 2 increments, don't just tie the lug nuts all the way to 65 ft.-lbs. in one pass. I usually tighten all of them to 40 - 45 ft.-lbs., then go back over them at 65. Seems like a pain, but I have had a rotor warp due to improper tightening (not my Subie, though).

Am I the only one that does the Hulkamania-Sparta!-style star pattern lug nut tightening first. Drive it around a bit then bust out my old weight style torque wrench to tighten it in range?

Both Boom and I know very well that torque wrenches at Sears are probably one of the items most TRIED to return...that and the aluminum racing jack. People like to try to use torque wrenches like a regular use ratchet then come back when they break.
Oh and I go 90 pounds...drive 50 miles...re-torque.

Yep, re-torque one time is good enough. If you've used a torque wrench right, you're fine.
Hell, I just use my "best guess" and i've never had a wheel fly off on me. but i do the tightening in 2 passes like others have mentioned.
course, this is for street only, if you're worried about motorsport use, yeah, best get the torque wrench, and do it in at least 2 passes, STAR pattern as always.
