exactly how much lighter is the cf hood/trunk from the stock ones?
i've been debating if i should get one, but had doubts because the stock ones are pretty light as it is. plus, i really dont like the look of cf, and was planning on painting it.

I don't know about the trunk but the stock hood is very light.
If you get a cf hood and paint it, then add hood pins (recommended with a cf hood) about the only weight you'll save is in your wallet, it'll be much much lighter

If you can find a CF hood that actually weighs MORE than the aluminum hood then by all means post a link to that piece of s**t so we can warn people about it.

One of the only lighter cf hoods on the market are the c-west ones which also cost around 1,200 not including the pins. Most "real" cf hoods are over the 600 dollar prince range.

Yeah... whatever. Stop spouting the bullsheet and I'll stop pointing it out.
Your 2 cents was that a CF hood weighs more than aluminum. Howsabout you come over here and lift my OEM hood and then my CF hood and tell me which weighs more?
Tell you what... I'll even remove the scoop from the OEM hood and put it on the CF hood and it will STILL weigh less...
Check your facts before you spout off.

This forum has really gone downhill recently (and coming from a bottom dweller like me that's very telling). Pffft.

Come to think of it... how'd I end up posting in the hawaii forum? Oh the joys of replying to threads through new posts...
Is it a lot harder to find CF stuff in Hawaii than on the mainland or something?
