cell phones?
hey guys...i'm probably gonna be switching some of my phone plans around tomorrow (disconnect my home phone and transfer the number to another cell phone)...i'm gonna keep my old cell phone number, and the phone with the home number will go to the gf...
i have used t-mobile for YEARS now- since 96 i think (back when they were voicestream)...and service is good...i was thinking of switching to nextel though, couple of my friends have nextel, so the direct connect would be used...any opinions???
a friend of mine used to work for sprint, and their service sucked...at&t's plans seem to be higher than t-mobile's, and the verizon plans dont seem that much better/different than t-mobile...
which carrier do you guys use, and how do you like them??? any phones to get or stay away from??? quick replies greatly appreciated, as i'll most likely be going phone shopping tomorrow afternoon...thanx!

i was with t-mobile/voicestream for 6 years... i been through their lawsuit years and i finally went over to nextel last month... i love it! i like the fact that i have free incoming, free long distance, nights week-ends, free direct connect. the only part that really doesn't seem all that great is the outgoing minutes. which i am okay with since my ph# is on my business cards.

I've had verizon and at&t and since I got my nextel, I haven't had to switch. make sure you get a plan with free incoming calls so that you can just tell people to call you back.

Due to everything that's been going on in the McD family, I just got my Nextel bill. Let's just say we've more than doubled our alloted minutes.
Cellphones are something even behind-the-times-gpat takes for granted. During everyday life, you'd never think to setup your phone to monitor your minutes (I guess some would...like someone named Adrian Monk
) or to call the company and ask how many you've used, so you just don't think of doing that in times of flux, neither.
There goes some good dough that I could've used for some nice little toy I was planning on buying my car for it's 'Welcome to Indiana' party.

i have owned t mobile and nextel. with tmobile i had 4000 anytime minutes. i dropped so many calls with them.
the good thing with tmoble is that if you threaten to switch providers they will treat you better than the president of the united states. for years i kept accumulating minutes because i complained that i never got the promotions they advertised.- by that they kept adding to my plan. for the longest time i stayed with tmobile because they had the best phones-IMO
i'm with nextel and i love it. wish i had the i830 though. oh well.
with my business i use 4000 plus minutes and i pay 60 bucks a month.
