Question CEL please help

Okay, today I washed my car cause of all the crud I collected on it at yesterdays auto-x. About an hour later I took it for a drive and about 3 min into the drive my CEL goes on. Now, I have a HKS BOV ; a Blitz LM intake; and a Blitz Nur-Spec axel back. That is all. I have run this combo for awhile, about 6 months. With the exception of the axel back which has been on for 2 weeks. I have never had a problem until now. I think it might have something to do with the BOV which I sorta broke a few days ago. ( pulled the vaccum nipple right outta the valve ) I pushed it back in too far the first time and the valve made real F'd up noises on blow- off, kind of a "shuddering" blow-off. Well I pulled it out more and it seemed fine after that. But that was a few days ago and I never had a prob. till today. I even ran auto-x no prob.

Any thoughts/ suggestion ??

Thanks Steve

Check the gas cap to make sure it's tight. Fill up the tank recently?

Richard,
The last time I filled gas was yesterday, before auto-x. So I don't think that's the prob. Thanks though. I just reset the ECU, disconect neg batt terminal and stand on the brake for awhile. Is this correct ? Anyway the light went away.......If it comes back do you know anyone who can pull the code ?

Thanks,
Steve

I can sometimes borrow an OBD 2 scan tool.

It can take a period of time for the evaporative emissions pressure loss CEL to show up - so it still may have been a loose gas cap.

Might be a MAF related signal as well.

Nothing to worry about though. The CELs you worry about will FLASH.

you may need to adjust the bov, sounds too tight.

The screw was pretty loose when I tried it. I just hope I didn't buy a lemon from someone.
That does not sound good....The valve should NOT make a fluttering sound. Maybe the guy that sold it to you had the same problem as me ( pushing the vaccum nipple in too far )
