If you have a catless DP -- cat inefficiency error most likely. Only way to fix it is using an o2 simulator at the rear sensor or a reflash. Or you can just disconnect the battery and it won't happen again for a little while.

Jose dont waste your money on one of those if thats the case. i would say first see if someone on here has a code reader to find out for sure what the problem is. more than likely its what sykosis said and if thats the case do another search because you can make one of those cel fixes for a few dollars and your time to hook it up on your car. or you can just go ahead and get your em here i also found this hope this helps

So like I said you only need one "cel fix". And this is for the o2 sensor on the downpipe, There are 3 wires attatched to this sensor. You need to cut the white wire. and solder (recommended) or crimp the resistor (cel fix) in line. If it's the cel fix from Gruppe-S, the blue wire from the resistor attaches to the o2 sensor side, and purple wire to ecu side. Hope this helps.

i am pretty sure it will not read if he did a reset.........because this is a method of clearing the codes out.

no it wont read the code if its been cleared, the more expensive ones may, but for example the AP wont read it. if anythin, jose just find someone with an AP (me for one) and plug in. you dont need to reflash for that.

I think using my laptop and Car-Code program you can pull up the code history, not sure tho. I will check next time. My '01 RS Coupe has recurring CEL due to the Exedy flywheel and Borla header. If I end up selling the car, I will probably give the new owner the laptop and OBD cable which I have used to clear and read lots of people's codes and stuff before moving. It's a great program though if anyone wants it. Anyone on the Big Island, I will clear or pull codes for you. You can also read realtime engine sensor info and drive in 'dash' mode or log data.
