Car insurance with low "suck factor?"

Progressive said my insurance was fine till the policy expires.. Now they say "ohh you want to register your car, then no it's not OK" so I need some insurance. I am waiting for a quote from aig, and prolly go see the Drive lady monday, but if anyone knows one they like.. Lemme know.

Please please please please... I know someone on this forum has got to have car insurance.. If you like your rates or whatever, lemme know. Seems like this might be a good idea anyway to compare rates and see who's the best.

I gotta get insurance next week and I would appreciate any suggestions.. Thanks!!

---> hiic insurance rates

Yep - I searched too, the newest thread was about a year old... I was hoping for some current ideas.... No worries.

I already saw your insurance thread.. Haha.. I wasn't gonna ask you..

AIG...

A. Because they get you taken care of and fight for you if it isn't your fault.

B. Because they're a good company and they support their community.

I have AIG as well and they seem to be a good company. No claims, but good enough rates. STi's are not cheap to insure, either. so... happy I stay.

I use USAA, dont know if you will qualify though. My WRX got broken into in Washington and they fixed it up, no problems or rate increases. Only good experiances so far. FYI they were about half of what Progressive wanted out of me here.

I was w/ USAA when i had my Motorcycle wreak and they were great! They didnt even bother to look at the cycle after the wreak. Just called and asked me what i wanted. I told them to total it due to me being "done" w/ cycles forever. They picked it up fm my friends house and mailed me a check for MORE than i paid for the bike to begin with. I paid $3k for it and they sent me $4200. But, I switched to Geico after a bought the LGT due to cheaper rates. I had Geico for about 6 yrs before USAA and was very happy so i wasnt to upset about the move. Im paying around $300/6 months for the LGT. Will probably go up alittle when i finally sell the Volvo. No 2 car discount...

just curious. will insurance company know the difference between an STI and WRX via the vin? and around what prices will i be expected to pay for an STI? doing some homework before buying the car.

my wife and i have allstate insurance after geico dropped the ball on us. we pay about 300 a month. for an fully modified street/race car, all modifications insured should it be stolen.

AIG said $1436/ 6mos for my '01 Impreza and '80 Celica for me and my g/f. Both over 25 and completely clear record... Gonna try Progressive, Gieco and the Allstate last. I will post results..

GEICO wins @ $610.90/6mos for me + g/f for an '01 RS and '80 Celica. Wonder why AIG was so high for less coverage, and the guy didn't even care about the price - when I asked him, he said "yeah - best you just shop around." Ah well.

Thanks for the info!!

I will vouch for AIG... yes they are freaking expensive, but they have come through QUICKLY on every claim I've filed. I was even surprised how well they came through in my last incident.
