How's it going everyone,
I recently installed my Invidia N1 on my FXT but I can't get a good capture of the sound with my iphone 4S and was wondering if you guys have and recommendations on what I should use to better capture the sound. I was thinking about purchasing a GoPro White edition (the black is a little to steep for me) but are there any mic attachments or anything I can use on my phone to better capture the sound? Also what do you use to capture audio and video if you wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks everyone.
Here is a sample clip of what my exhaust sounds like with my phone, but as you can see I have to pretty much place it right on the bumper to capture the sound and the second I rev my phone will freeze (think it's due to the heat area of effect).

Basically with audio. iPhones are limited as you noticed.
Gopros are geared toward video and won't capture good sound. Watch any gopro only video and it will sound muffled, due to the case. And don't have a connect for audio. If you want really great audio you have to go high end. Most videos your thinking of, motortrend drive, they have high end audio recording devices.
You could use the iPhone and stand farther away so the mic doesn't clip or rent something more substantial.
You could come by my place and we could try recording your car with my Dj equipment. Lol

Niiiice, that is a badass exhaust I finally found that the GoPro White Edition was able to pick up the exhaust note and although it can't capture everything aspect of the note it does a pretty good job of displaying the sound:
BTW arghtwo do you park near the Kapahulu area sometime, I think I saw your FXT the other day?

i just bought a gopro white and was trying different things with it.. this video is with the skeleton back door and suction mount.. but ive been looking at gopro tips and a lot of people use a directional mic pointed at the muffler, all you need is a skeleton housing, mic adapter, and the mic.. you could also use the fluffy mic to cut down on wind
