it would be a problem if it is...Find a STOCK exhaust buy it and throw it on your WRX.

 

I have a Greddy Ti-C and never had problems passing Safety. And I had it done at Sears Ala Moana too

 

Nope. They don't test exhaust decibels. Not even for recon. I passed recon & safety with JIC bullet.

 

i havent tried sears yet...i went to the pearlridge and alamoana ones yesterday, but the wait for a safety check was 3 1/2 - 4 hours and i didnt have the time haha.

howd you manage to pass luktang? did they say anything about your car being too loud? or a better question would be, where did you get your safety at?

 

I have invidia N1 race exhaust..never checked for how loud..from what i was told it used to be a recon item but no longer is required to have recon..it has nothing to do with your safety as far as i can see...

im security forces on hickam and its to my understanding that hawaii no longer has a law on how loud an exaust can be. so pretty much they have no clue what the current laws are, or they just like being dicks. a cop cant pull you over and give you a ticket for an exaust being to loud a couple months ago i was pulled over for accelerating to fast from a traffic light and the cop gave me a ticket. I called bull**** because there was no way you can prove that on the street or in court. I looked up the HRS code for which i was being cited (exhibition of speed). I showed up for court the day i was appointed and turns out douche never turned in the ticket. Because it was a bull**** ticket.

 

I know a lot of places that fail for an exhaust being too loud. I think it's more preference really. As long as they don't give you the blue copy and you don't pay, who cares move on to the next.

 

i say "F" safety and "F" recon...lol jk
ill say GL on finding safety soon. also ive heard cops are cracking down on places that gives illegal safety checks and closing down shops, employees losing thier inspector license and or losing thier job.

 

i have the same exhaust... 3in from turbo back... no cat... no resinator... just a straight thru muffler... passed with flying colors... but then again, they some how didnt even notice my coilovers...

 

i go to jiffy lube...no probs with a hks crbon-Ti

 

At my job, so long you have a cat on your exhaust we will pass you. Of course everything else has to be legit.

I passed twice where I went. And some of you know how loud my exhaust was. If I had some dark tint, that would've been the only thing that could've failed me. Recon? What's recon? It's just a kiss-a$$ sticker for the state. Luckily we don't have emissions otherwise we'd all fail.

this whole safety thing is stressing me coz I keep telling my parents, who are up my *** about this, that my car being too loud isn't a legit reason to deny me a sc. Pfft, parents from an older generation never understand
