The weight is mostly from the tranny
and associated hubs/axles, etc. Beefy parts weigh more. I'll trade you my lighter 5-speed if you want. No charge.

Dan,
If you're really looking to build up a 2.5RS I have a lot of advice for ya. I have learned soooo much through my experience.
I've been pricing EVERYTHING.
I have a new plan in progress... it's top secret, though.
Watch out.

I've been doing a lot of talking with COBB over the last two weeks and we've worked out the details for this kind of power (350++ ft-lb torque @ mid 3000 rpm).
Unfortunately I can't afford it because the wife moved us while I was at sea and spent every penny we had saved plus put us in more debt.
So mine is going to be a little less built. *wink wink*
of course if you want more high-end power we can achieve that too! it'll suck as a daily driver though.

also, let me know what kind of budget you have.
Need to know if we are going to do things like buy beefy rods for 700 bucks or buy STi rods($90/each) and have them shot peened(150 bucks).
Or if you want to go with a semi-closed deck (STi-$1300 and six month wait -or COBB- $4400 and 6 weeks wait) block or take your chances with a stock EJ25D<---- what I'm doing.
