its my opinion that yeah you should get a blow off valve because it keeps the pressure built inside your intake from backfiring back to your turbo, plus your turbo keeps spooling for better response. (hence the great design of the return hose back to the front of the turbo via the stock blo-by valve. getting a BOV isnt necesary, but if you want the hiss from blowing off and better spool times, its a great way to go!

Question

o i forgot to ask, but i find it irrelevant, does having a auto tranny even make a difference, i dont think it does since the tranny has absolutely nuthing to do with the blow off cept how many times it goes off from 1st to 5th, or in your case 1st to 4th?

I got auto tranny and have a BOV because I upgraded my turbo. it was for that purpose that I have one but I mainly use it for getting the attention of random hottie walking down the street or letting people know that I'm right next to them while in traffic...etc. so no one bangs me

I agree w/ Jon. Don't waste your money unless you're upgrading your turbo. I read online that Auto tranny and maunal tranny are different in the way they handle the boost between shifts. Plus only a certain BOV works w/ no problem for WRXs... like the HKS and the TurboXS... so save that $180 bucks and invest on a downpipe and/or up-pipe.

If you need more info, www.clubwrx.net has a great forum section just for us 4EAT guys.

Chucky you have an auto? I didn't even know!

Anyways the BOV is just for show unless you get a more serious set up.

the most enjoyable mod i bought for my car.
on the downside it does absolutely nothing, probably only thing it does is make my car slower, but i make noise now!!

don't waste money on a new one, maybe wait for a used one. they always pop up.

Blake, yeah, I have a 4EAT!

One big problem w/ used BOV... they're just like women... they become looooose and start to blow off in any RPM range... LOLLL~!! Am I right, Julio??

Mike dont get a BOV. Get an up and downpipe first. That way you can install them when you get your new exhaust!!!

A BOV that doesn't recerculate like the stock BOV will hurt your turbo spool, especially on the stock turbo. Don't waste your money on some POS BOV. They are all a waste of money unless they recirculate.
