i'm looking to be a cheap @ss once again and i seen some boost phones on ebay... they say they are unlocked. is this a good deal if i'm just switching sim cards out of my nextel i860?

 

depending on what phone you're looking at. are they new or used? do they come with a prepaid sim card?

reason why i'm asking is because i've purchaed at least 3 phones from ebay that weren't unlocked but came with a prepaid sim card (which you can use here but you'll have a mainland phone number while using it). i unlocked the phone before i used it and then after the minutes on the sim card were finished i just used my nextel one.

it also depends on the phone you're looking at since some of the newer phones require an upgraded sim card to utilize phone book features...etc. remember it's still a motorola phone just locked for the boost mobile network (prepaid service only)

unfortunately i don't know how to unlock the newer phones as it takes a lot more time, skill to do those.

should be ok then as long as the phone is ALREADY unlocked then you should be fine!

I just bought an i875 off of Ebay (unlocked), the problem I've had and heard of many Boost i875 and Nextel i870 is the memory card reader is a bit finicky. I've tried every trick in the book to get the thing to work, but it still doens't work

Anyways just amek sure if this problem happens the seller you are purchasing the phone from has a good return policy.......BTW there going for about 240 - 275 now, I think I found as the cheaper ones
