Hmm...

Now I wonder if the 92 octane gas that I use at the Coast Guard may be part of my car's problem.

Where is the Shell station that sells 100 octane?

it's a 76 station on King St. I believe.

... the on-base gas stations sucks *****, ... that's the 'cheapest' gas on island for a reason.

hahah hell no! I might lose my job

My mechanic got busted filling up gas in our golf cart. The MP said he could lose his job because of it.

It's not like he was stealing it, he paid for it with his CC, before he started filling up

hehe ahhh oh well I miss IMF

I agree with that. AAFES only pays $.53/gal of gas you tell me how good it is.

tesoro sucks

Yup, I felt a big difference once I put a half tank of 100 octane in the car. Boost doesn't spike at 5k anymore, but it does spike at 7k. I think I need to run my car with higher octane until my fuel system flushes out all the crap residue left by the tesoro stuff.

Where do you guys buy the higher octane mix again? Is it called Toulane (sp?).

Go to Lowes and pick up some Xylene. Otherwise, Toulene is at Sherwin Williams. both are fine. Just get whatever is closer to you. 1 gallon Xylene to 8 Gallons (a little more than half a tank) of 92 octane will put you to 94.7~.
