B&B Cat Back Exhaust Installed.

Hi There,

Just thought I would throw this out if anyone was interested. I just received my B&B Cat-Back exhaust yesterday.

Some thoughts:

1. Materials and finish very nice.
2. 3" Stainless Mandrel Bent Tubing. If you haven't seen this tubing yet, it looks gargantuan!
3. Dual Outlet. Polished double-walled tips.
4. Fitment: Very Good.
5. Sound: Awesome. Very low toned and throaty. It brings out the tell-tale Subaru Rumble. In the parking garage I'm in, I gunned it this morning and it sounded like my Bassani Dual Exhaust on my V8 Tundra....mean.

(They have soundclips here...the WRX is that of a 2.0l) My STI sounds even lower and deeper than the clip.

I only had Rhino ramps (made for a tight squeeze under the car. It took me all of 10min to take off the stock muffler. Started from the front and worked my way back. I found that it is easier to disconnect the flange behind the cat, leave the intermediate section connected, then removed the brackets from the rubber mounts. The mid-pipe can be a bugger to get apart and it is easier to do so once you have the complete unit on the ground.

It took me another 40min to reinstall due to the tight squeeze under the car using just the ramps. the flange near the cat has two spring loaded bolts...these were kind of a bugger to get back on due to the thickness of the new flange on the B&B...after some aligning and compressing using vice-grips and water-pump pliers...they fit together fine.

This is a quality product and I have no leaks, squeaks, nor clanging on anything using the stock rubber mounts...

I recommend this system highly.

Sweet . Are you gonna get the downpipe too? Where'd you order from? LMK if you're planning on getting the downpipe, maybe we could share shipping costs on an order.

Noted...maybe I should of, but I thought I would share my thoughts with the local's here first...

Mister 2,

I would like to get the downpipe right now but do not want to fool with the possibility of a CEL. I'm going to wait until they come up with a real fix for it...

I ordered my cat-back from Vivid Racing...Talked to Mike O'Connor at X226 and he hooked me up. If you order, just tell them you are from Hawaii and mention my name to him and he will hook you up with a good price too...I'm warning you right now, shipping wasn't cheap...Argh, the price for living in paradise...

You are right, shipping isn't cheap but I'm never gonna touch Vivid because of their Hawaii shipping policies they had for me.

I got my turboback for 60 shipping 2nd day air...how much did they charge you?
